The B50E was developed to replace the B50D, and in terms of capacity and cost, it adds about 4.5 to 5 yds more per load than the B45E. Other changes from the D Series are the removal of the transmission retarder to make space for the incline 6 engine, and the transmission changed from six speeds to seven.
