Bobcat presented a variety of new products for the first time at INTERMAT 2018, including the arrival of Bobcat’s R-Series compact excavators from 2- to 4-tonne for markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In addition, the company celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the Bobcat loader.

Organized around a central display celebrating the 60th Anniversary and featuring a heritage Bobcat Clark 825 model, the stand presented key application areas covering material handling, earthmoving (dominated by the new R-Series excavators), landscaping, demolition and road work. The different areas also displayed  Doosan Portable Power (DPP) air compressors, lighting systems and generators. Complementing these were live shows on the company’s outside demonstration area.

Bobcat R-Series compact excavator rangeBobcat R-Series compact excavator rangeThe new range of compact excavator models – the E26, E27z, E27, E34 and E35z – offers a mix of high digging forces, stability and smooth controlability of working functions complemented by low weights for easy transportation. The R-Series utilizes newly developed flexible machine platforms that allow different configurations of models and specifications to suit a range of applications and customer needs. In addition, the development team for the new machines has ensured they offer enhanced operator comfort and functionality.

The new compact excavator range has been designed by the Bobcat European Innovation Center for customers in Europe. Numerous innovations include, for example, an all-around visibility cab and  new minimal effort joysticks offering further enhanced controlability and smoothness of working functions.  The operator also benefits from up to five independent auxiliary hydraulic circuits and a ‘Selectable Auxiliary Control’ (SAC) system for customizable joystick controls. The E26 model includes a Cylinder-Inside-Boom (CIB) design concept for maximum hydraulic cylinder protection.

Visitors to the stand and outside demo area could also see the latest addition to the Bobcat loader range, the T870 torsion suspension compact track loader. Its 5-link torsion suspension undercarriage minimizes rocking when lifting a load high or when performing grading tasks. With the new undercarriage, there is no trade-off between comfort and performance. An additional link on the rear axle stabilizes the system to decrease rocking or bouncing and increase productivity.

Bobcat TL30.70 compact telehandlerBobcat TL30.70 compact telehandlerThe T870 torsion suspension machine offers 10% more lift capacity than the previous roller suspension model. It is available with a range of standard and optional features and in onfigurations to match emissions and specification requirements for all Europe, Middle East, Africa, Russia and CIS markets.

Another debut at INTERMAT was the TL30.70 compact telehandler, providing a maximum lift capacity of 3 tonne and a maximum lift height of nearly 7 m. The TL30.70 provides a cost-effective alternative to larger 7 m models, especially where working spaces are tight and increased maneuverability is required.

The TL30.70 offers a maximum reach of 4 m with a load of more than 1 tonne. At the maximum lift height, users can lift up to 2 tonne of weight, which is sufficient to place a pallet of heavy bricks in most conditions. Its compactness and stability make this machine an optimal tool for pick and go or for lifting materials to height on housing and commercial property developments. The telehandler is a cost-efficient solution, especially when equipped with the 75-hp  engine (without AdBlue/DPF).

Visitors to the stand also had a chance to see the Bobcat Clark 825 heritage machine. This machine is there to illustrate the company’s history and commitment to its customers. While it is 40 years old, the machine is still fully functional using Bobcat Genuine Parts.

Jemylia Raimbault, Senior Marketing & Training Director for Bobcat in EMEA, comments,  “Intermat 2018 is giving the opportunity to Bobcat EMEA to showcase, application by application, how relevant our machines are to overcome the operator’s daily challenges. These can involve harsh environments where downtime is simply not accepted, or they can be located in limited access areas or even require an incredible variety of different jobs, i.e. attachments. Bobcat machines are definitely built for this, they are tough, agile and versatile.”
