Twenty-five years ago this magazine published for the first time, providing the paving and pavement maintenance industry with its first and only trade magazine. The goal, according to the first writer in this space, was to "make our profits through helping you do more business and make more profit. If we're good at it we'll become an essential part of your business."
Well, we're still here. We hope that means we've helped you grow your business and become more profitable, and we plan on continuing to be the trade magazine contractors of all sizes and services rely on. We'll be working for you a little differently in the months and years ahead, though. Our ties with National Pavement Expo, National Pavement Expo West, sister website www.forconstructionpros.com, and our E-newsletter enable us to provide a broad variety of information in just about any way you want to receive it ("in print, Internet and in person" to quote our recent marketing). In fact, you can already read back issues, research equipment and materials purchases, and connect to manufacturers' websites at www.pavementonline.com. Plus, we're utilizing the website to expand the articles you find in the magazine.
But there's way more to our 25-year success story than what we have done and what we plan to do. Over the years we have turned to equipment manufacturers, material producers, industry consultants, and most frequently to contractors themselves to tell their stories to the rest of the industry. We know our readers are the experts in paving and pavement maintenance, and we appreciate your willingness to explain what you do and how you do it to others in the industry so they can do it, too. So while we're proud of what we've accomplished over the last quarter century, and while we're well along making plans for the next 25 years, we want to make sure to thank all those who have helped us along the way.
We wouldn't be here without you.
