Gasoline engine-powered, compact centrifugal pumps are very common items throughout the marketplace and suitable for a wide range of dewatering jobs. There are a few basic models that contractors are familiar with: trash pumps and standard centrifugal.

Trash pumps have high-flow designs that are most common, while standard centrifugal dewatering pumps are good general purpose (clear water) dewatering pumps that provide an excellent value and require minimal investment. Many contractors are unaware of the growing popularity of high-pressure, centrifugal pumps in recent years due to their versatility in specialized applications.
