Smith Named President/CEO of Titan Labs

Titan Laboratories, in Mountain View, California, announces that James (Jamie) Smith is the new president and chief executive officer of Titan Laboratories,Mountain View, CA. He succeeds Harvey Berger, former president and member of the founding group, who will stay on for two years in a consulting role.

“I am very excited for the future of Titan Laboratories and the wonderful opportunity that is ahead of us," Smith said. “Harv has built a great company and I am looking forward to working with him and learning from his extensive knowledge in all of the industries that we serve.”

Titan Laboratories is a leading supplier of industrial cleaning agents used in the paving, flooring, window cleaning, roofing, adhesive removal and other industries. The company has been in business since 1984 and sells through a vast network of professional distributors.

Linebarger named Cummins /ChairmanCEO

Tom Linebarger will become chairman and chief executive officer of Cummins Inc., Columbus, IN, Jan. 1, 2012. He will succeed Tim Solso who held the position since 2000.

Linebarger, who has been with Cummins for 17 years, is currently president and chief operating officer.

Industry Appointments

At Tensar International Corp., Atlanta, Bryan Gee is roadway systems product manager for the producer of geosynthetic soil reinforcement and stabililzation.

At Rose Paving, Mason Ambler and Chris Hudgins are account executives for the Atlanta branch office, developing new accounts in Georgia and throughout the Southeastern United States.

Waterblasting Technologies to manufacture Jamaco Industries' Rumble Strip Machine

Jamaco Industries LLC has licensed Waterblasting Technologies, Stuart, FL, to manufacture, market and sell the RS-20B pavement rumble strip milling machine.

The RS-20B can cut median and centerline rumble strips at up to 3.4 mph. Jamaco says it is also developing an additional cutter drum to make cuts for inlaid pavement markings and recessed pavement markers.

Intermountain Slurry Seal Receives ISSA Top Honor

Intermountain Slurry Seal received the International Slurry Surfacing Association (ISSA) President's Award for its successful completion of the Grand Canyon National Park Pavement Preservation-North Rim project. The project included the surface treatment of more than 390,000 sq. yds. of pavement, including roadways, parking lots and campsites, all during the park’s busiest months. ISSA said that 25% of the micro surfacing applied during the project had to be done by hand because there was no way to fit the equipment into certain areas of the park without disrupting its environment. Intermountain Slurry Seal’s proposal of using a Type 3 patching method in place of another method allowed them to reduce the price of the project, speed up work and patch more area, all while helping the owner stay within budget. While completing the project, Intermountain Slurry Seal made it a priority to maintain the environmental and historical preservation of the park as well as the safety of all workers and park visitors.
