NPCA offers new member benefits

Wow, the new National Pavement Contractors Association (NPCA) column. We would like to start by thanking Cygnus Business Media and Pavement Maintenance & Reconstruction magazine for the privilege of having this regular column. We hope it achieves the purposes of keeping you up-to-date with what’s happening with the NPCA as well as bringing news of interest to contractors and helping to keep you in touch with what’s happening “on the Pavement” with contractors across the country.

It’s an exciting time for us. We are thankful for the support of more allied-vendor members than ever. Be sure to say thanks at the show or the next time you see your rep (and be on the lookout for some “show surprises”).

Now we have more benefits than ever, including: fleet discount pricing from Ford trucks, discount insurance programs for anything a contractor might need, discounts on financing/leasing for equipment, discounts on tools and stencils, on any type of printing or graphic work, on all types of clothing/gear (with your company logo included free), even discount cards from Avis and Budget.

More than any time in our eight-year history, it’s easy for members to offset the cost of dues by just using one or two of these benefits. And of course we’re proud to be the only pavement contractor location service ever recommended by the nation’s largest magazine Reader’s Digest, with reports for consumers. Last year, approximately 10,000 people came to our search to find quality-oriented professional contractors who strive for customer satisfaction.

NPCA stills need many more members, in a lot of areas, especially Arizona, Southern California, and many large cities to serve the demand from consumers looking for quality contractors (especially commercial jobs required to get multiple bids). We offer discounted dues for these areas and you can find details on our website.

We are also proud that for the first time there will be “NPCA educational credit seminars” at the National Pavement Expo, Jan. 30-Feb. 2 in Nashville, as the beginning of our program for recognizing members who believe in continuing education and higher levels of training for themselves and their employees. We are also excited about our new program coming in 2008, which will recognize contractors who have a higher degree of customer satisfaction.

From President Nick Howell, Vice President Vincent Engonogro, and the entire board and membership, we look forward to having you join us for the best year yet in 2008.
