The following are products recently introduced to the rental market, as well as models which have undergone significant changes.

Astec RT160
Astec Underground introduces the RT160, a new pedestrian trencher that can trench to 48-in. depth and from 4 to 8 in. wide. Unit is powered by a 24-hp twin-cylinder Honda gasoline engine. Two independent hydraulic pumps control the ground drive and trencher drive of the RT160, which offers a hydraulic trencher drive system directly connected to the trencher head shaft. Tire selection includes standard 23-x-10.5-x-12 tires; optional wider tires or easy-on, easy-off duals are available for improved flotation and traction. Hydrostatic ground drive provides inching precision and infinitely variable speeds for working in different applications and conditions. The RT160 uses an electric start and single-joystick operation, as well as Astec’s unique “automatic parking brake” operator presence system.

Jawz from Starhill Solutions
Starhill Solutions introduces the Jawz grabbing tool that attaches to small tractors under 100 hp and skid steers. The Mini Jawz is designed for mini skid steers. Jawz grabs objects from the sides, using two finger-like pincers that operate on a horizontal plane. This arrangement makes Jawz the perfect tools for removing trees, relocating large boulders, extracting fence posts and demolition.

ShinDAiwa EB8510 Backpack Blower
Shindaiwa recently introduced its newest backpack blower, the low-emission, low-noise, and low-weight EB8510. Wind velocities up to 224 mph lift up debris while 762 cfm airflow carries it away with its 79.7cc overhead cam engine. The blower’s C4 engine technology meets California’s clean air standards, and fuel efficiency top out at one hour of operation on a 2-liter tank of gas. Normal operation noise level is 76.7dB(A), while Hush Mode operates at 65dB(A). Additional features enhance operator comfort and maintenance ease.

Komatsu SK1026-5 Skid Steer
Komatsu’s SK1026-5 features standard two-speed travel with a 6.5-mph work range and 10-mph travel range. Unit offers a 2,650-lb. operating load with a 5,300-lb. tipping load, hydraulic self-leveling bucket with 4,740- to 5,400-lb. breakout force and HydrauMind hydraulic system as standard. Other features include Automatic Power Control (APC) anti-stall hydraulic system and a turbocharged diesel engine that provides 84 hp at 2,500 rpm.

Eco-Crusher from Giberson Enterprises
The Eco-Crusher is an excavator-mounted bucket jaw crusher that combines portable and affordable crushing to a new level. The Eco-Crusher will crush concrete, rocks, asphalt and more down to 1-in. minus in minutes on site.

Bandit 3400 Stump Grinder
The recently unveiled Model 3400 high-production stump grinder is ideal for removing stumps in land- and lot-clearing projects, under power lines and beneath right-of-ways. The 3400 is equipped with 140 hp and a unique hydrostatic cutter wheel drive with hydraulic, planetary motor built into the cutter head. This combination eliminates the need for a belt, jackshaft or transfer case type drive. The 305 Cat rubber-tracked undercarriage allows machine to go almost anywhere and work in soft or uneven ground conditions. A radio remote controls all functions from any position.

Electric Eel Model EC-10LCD
The EC-10LCD Pipeline Inspection System is compact and portable with a 10-in. color LCD monitor and weighs only 22 lbs. Comes standard with 200 ft. of push cable, color camera, 512 Hz transmitter for locating, on-screen footage counter, microphone and keyboard.

Clarke Boost
Clarke’s Boost (Battery Operated Orbital Scrubbing Technology) machine is a specially engineered hybrid merging Clarke scrubbing technology and high-speed orbital sanding technology. The Boost scrubber offers a 50- to 70-percent reduction in water and chemicals, battery and labor savings, and a 40-percent increase in pad life, compared to traditional disc scrubbers.

Cummins Low-Emissions Diesel Generator Sets
Cummins Power Generation introduces a new series of 150 kW, 175 kW and 200 kW low-emissions diesel generator sets that comply with new EPA Tier 3 standards for nonroad (mobile) applications. In addition, these generator sets meet the EPA Tier 3 requirements for stationary generators that are scheduled to go into effect Jan. 1, 2007. The new gensets are based on a Cummins 9-liter inline six-cylinder diesel engine. The 60 Hz gensets are intended for standby and prime power use in a wide range of applications.

Truvox Hydromist 10
Truvox introduces the Hydromist 10, a portable injection/extraction machine used to effectively and easily deep clean carpets, upholstery and fabrics. It uses a diaphragm pump and is designed for intense, daily cleaning.The Hydromist 10 evenly sprays cleaning solution deep into carpet or fabric fibers and then vacuums the surface dry. The solution tank can hold up to 10 or 20 liters of solution, depending on the model. The compact, ergonomic design allows for easy maneuverability and it fits into most cars.

RK-43K Hot-Water Pressure Washer
The RK-43K is a 3,500 psi, hot-water, high-pressure washer from Delco Cleaning Systems. This belt-driven pump unit outputs 5.2 gpm and produces 200-degree hot water. Kohler, Vanguard, or Honda engine has a large muffler to reduce noise and the 16-gallon fuel tank supplies enough juice to run the unit for more than five hours. The washer is equipped with a 50-foot, high-pressure hose with a trigger gun on a 36-inch wand.

Michigan Pneumatic MP-1165W Angle Grinder
The MP-1165W 5-in. waterfeed angle grinder for stone cutting is designed for the stone industry, specifically for use with diamond hole saws to cut in corners of countertops for undermounted sinks. Equally valuable for uses with diamond blades to connect the radiused corners when cutting in sink tops. Features include wick-type lubrication, spiral beveled gears for more spindle torque, a miniature brass ball valve with nylon seals to prevent leakage, a dead handle for greater stability and control when cutting and more.

John Deere Worksite Pro Roller Levels
The new John Deere Worksite Pro RL66 and RL84 Roller Levels make grading, leveling and contouring with detail control simple and easy for skid steer operators. These new attachments are a patented box blade with roller level that can do landscape and site preparatory work without hydraulics. As a result, the initial cost and operating costs are less than other final grade tools. These roller levels do not disturb sub soil, which is key for asphalt and concrete jobs.

DeWalt 36-Volt Power Tool Line
DeWalt introduces its 36-volt power tool product line, providing users with increased levels of power and runtime, while weighing a similar or less weight than their corded counterparts. The new seven-tool platform includes a hammerdrill, reciprocating saw, circular saw, impact wrench, rotary hammer, jigsaw, flashlight and combo kits. The 36-volt line delivers two to three times more runtime and two times the power of 18-volt tools.

Wright Gear-Drive Walk-Behind Mower
Wright Mfg. recently unveiled a new Velke walk-behind commercial mower. The new model is gear driven with adjustable axle, a five-speed transmission and a Warner magstop clutch. The new mower has an integrated latch system for use with Wright’s trademark Velke drop down sulky. The operator can walk behind the mower in tight spots and, with the pull of a dashboard lever, ride on the straightaways. The new Velke mower, with pistol grip control, is offered with 15- and 17-hp engine and a choice of 32-, 36- or 48-in. mower deck.
