Course: Course includes 3 1/2 days of advanced classroom and hands-on instruction. Classes include: The History and Evolution of Asphalt Plants, Operation and Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, Segregation, Drying, Safety, and Recycle. The students can choose hands on classes covering either Hauck burners or Astec burners, and their respective controls.
There will be hands-on classes covering: trunnions, storage systems, belts and weigh bridges, and environmental systems.
There will be special classes on blending controls-calibration and troubleshooting, including advanced troubleshooting classes. There will also be a basic electrical class offered. Heatec will conduct classes on: burner controls and limit devices, controlling temperature and flow of thermal fluid, fuel pre-heaters, and maintaining tanks, pumps and strainers.
