Want Inspiration?

Showcase is more than just photos and words about random machines. Equipment is the lifeblood of your business.

This time of year always finds me searching for inspiration. With the scramble to tie up loose ends at work before the end of the year, coupled with  frantic attempts to meet holiday expectations and obligations, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and well, a little depleted.
When stress begins to get the better of us, I think the best remedy is to seek out people and activities that feed us and provide the spark we need to light the fire of inspiration. In the workplace, particularly, it’s important to find ways to keep our enthusiasism fresh and our motivation on full throttle. After all, we spend so much of our lives working, it’s a shame to allow that time to be drudgery.
One way to stay inspired by our work is to focus on the positive. Many of you might be discouraged in the face of the continuing economic struggle, but from my perspective as an industry observer, I never fail to be impressed by the resilience of those involved in equipment rental. Recently, while conducting our first-ever Readers’ Choice Awards, I had the privilege of speaking with many of you across the country about your favorite pieces of rental equipment. The responses I received from you really drove home how much people in the rental industry love equipment. Everyone who took the time to respond to our query did so because they are passionate about their equipment, their business and the industry they work in.
With this in mind, I felt renewed enthusiasm while putting together this year’s Showcase because I know how much this stuff matters to you. It’s not just a bunch of photos and words about random machines. Equipment is the lifeblood of your business.
So, as you browse through the pages of this issue, I hope you too can find inspiration for the coming year and maybe even discover a new niche for your inventory that could open up a fresh revenue stream for your business. Go ahead, make your wish list and while you do, take stock of all the positives you’ve got going for your business. We still have a long way to go in our economic recovery, but the rental industry is poised for substantial growth, and I think it’s largely due to the perserverance, enthusiasm, and perhaps most importantly, the passion of people like you.
