Allmand Unveils New Maxi-Lite II

Allmand Bros. announces the latest generation Maxi-Lite light tower, the Allmand Maxi-Lite II, available in either a traditional lay-down style or a V-series hydraulically actuated vertical tower. 

Now standard with 100 US gallons of fuel capacity, the Maxi-Lite II can operate up to 175 hours with all four lights operating to provide extended operation with less service expense. The dual rotationally molded fuel tanks are longitudinally mounted on either side of the enclosure directly over the axle to ensure that the trailer is evenly balanced regardless of the fuel level.

The light tower's completely redesigned trailer features heavy-gauge formed-steel gull-wing style doors that allow complete accessibility to all major engine and generator components. Its remote oil drain enables easy engine servicing. The larger enclosure allows easier service access and accommodates Tier IV Final engines as well as any peripheral attachments they may require.

The trailer-integrated fluid containment system provides additional peace-of-mind when operating in environmentally sensitive areas. The containment tray holds up to 110 percent of the fuel and oil capacity and incorporates a large drain for easy clean-out.

Incorporating Allmand’s exclusive SHO-HD 1,250-watt engineered lighting system, the new Maxi-Lite II provides 150,000 lumens per lamp. Additionally, Allmand’s optional Saf-T-Visor attachment can also be installed on the fixtures to direct otherwise wasted light back onto the worksite.

Atlas Copco QLTS Light Towers Run Solely on Solar Power

The Atlas Copco QLTS light towers run on solar-powered batteries that are charged during the day and last through the night. They significantly reduce environmental impact, operate silently and have a very low life cycle cost because they don’t require fuel and have no engine or alternator to maintain.

Highly efficient AGM batteries provide clean, reliable power to the LED lights. With sufficient sunlight during the day, these towers can provide light for many night shifts without requiring a charge.

The QLTS solar light towers are 100-percent noise free, which is especially practical for special events, security and operation in residential neighborhoods.

Doosan LSC Light Towers Feature Upgraded Powertrain

The redesigned LSC portable light tower features a new powertrain, equipped with a Kubota D1005 engine. This 1,800-rpm water-cooled diesel engine meets EPA Tier 4 final emission regulations. The power rating of the LSC has been increased to 6 kW with the utilization of a new high-output alternator. This additional voltage allows operators to illuminate the unit’s four 1,000-watt metal halide floodlights and utilize the receptacle power function simultaneously.

Fuel tank capacity has also been increased extending the LSC’s runtime to 55 hours. The compact frame design maximizes truckload shipping, with the ability to accommodate 12 fully assembled units on a standard flatbed trailer.

Improvements to the enclosure make it even more convenient to access the operator control panel. A small curbside door allows operators to safely access the controls without having to open the entire side panel. Integrated hinges have also been added to the street-side to provide easy access to all interior general maintenance components.

Common with all of Doosan’s light towers, the heavy-duty galvanized steel mast of the LSC extends from 12 to 30 feet. When fully extended and with all four outriggers/jacks secured, the unit will withstand winds up to 65 mph. The telescoping, rotating tower locks into position for precise aiming of floodlights. For traveling and storage, a patented automatic locking system holds the tower into place when in the stowed travel position.

Infinite Solar Solutions Introduces the MSTL 900

Infinite Solar Solutions introduces the MSTL 900 (Mobile Solar Tower Light) which runs independently to provide powerful lighting in remote locations or in rugged environments where light is needed 24/7.

The MSTL 900 is virtually maintenance free and is designed to run unmanned, after a quick, fully automated set-up. Fully deployed, the mast extends 30 feet high in less than 10 seconds. LE Adds Light Towers to Its Equipment Division

LE extends its Light Tower line with three additional light towers in its equipment division, complementing the existing XLE18-M EcoSmart 10kW Light Tower introduced earlier this year. 

LE’s new XLE5-MP 5kW light tower was designed for smaller worksite and disaster relief needs with a 13-foot mast and easily transportable 98-inch length. At 551 pounds (no fuel), the XLE5-MP is lightweight with a small footprint. Included are low oil/high temperature automatic shutdowns, individual light breaker switches and a safe automatic locking winch.

The XLE30-HC and XLE40-HC severe-duty light towers, designed for extreme temperature environments, are 15kW and 20kW respectively, and provide exportable power, up to 50 amps, at the same time the lights are running. Both offer a wide selection of optional equipment, including an Arctic package, engine block heater, vertical electronic mast, battery charger and fuel water separator with fuel line heater.

Magnum MLT4000S Solar Hybrid Light Tower Offers Alternative to Diesel

Whether running on batteries charged by its solar panel array or its on-board LP-fueled generator, the new MLT4000S solar hybrid light tower by Magnum Power Products is an alternative to traditional diesel-fueled light towers.

The Magnum MLT4000S solar hybrid light tower features a compact, three-panel solar array that is can be deployed to charge eight on-board batteries. Should daytime weather prevent the solar panels from fully charging the batteries, or if the batteries become depleted during nighttime use, the LP-fueled Generac air-cooled generator will turn on automatically and recharge the batteries until the solar panels can take over. Coupled with a standard seven-day programmable controller, the MLT4000S can operate unmanned for extended periods of time.

The unit’s rugged LED light fixtures offer more than 50,000 hours of operation. Additionally, unlike metal halide fixtures, the LED light fixtures require no strike or cool-down time during operation; they turn on and off instantly for immediate use. 

The Magnum MLT4000S also features a vertical mast for rapid deployment. The five-section tubular steel mast can extend to heights between 14 and 23 feet in 30 seconds. Like other Magnum light tower masts, the vertical mast can be rotated 360 degrees from ground level, even when fully extended.

Multiquip's LT6 Series Offers Power and Light in a Compact Package

The LT6 Series represents a compact, mobile light tower and power generating unit with design features that target the industry requirements expected in a modern trailer-mounted light tower.

A Tier IV(F) 12-hp liquid-cooled diesel power plant runs the light tower, which features four 1,000W metal-halide lamps for long-lasting lighting, as well as the 6,000kW 120/240V brushless generator (± 6% voltage regulation). The LT6 has a 34-gal. fuel tank for 65 hours of continuous operation (at 3/4 power load), while total fluid containment ensures environmental safety.

Features include a condensed frame for cost-effective storage/transportability, selected polyethylene components to safeguard against corrosion, and open compartment engineering for easy maintenance. 

The 30-foot telescoping mast rotates 360 degrees and is made of zinc dichromate to combat corrosion.

Progress Solar Solutions Models Utilize Solar and Wind Power

Progress Solar Solutions offers two new series of products, the Progress Solar/Hybrid-Ready and Progress Solar/Hybrid Light Towers. The company claims its product range is the largest selection of towable outdoor lighting systems (light plants) powered by renewable energy (sun and wind power) and the only range that enables use anywhere including the extremes from dessert heat to arctic cold, depending on the model selected.

The light plants are powered primarily by two on-board solar-powered generators and an optional wind generator housed above the LED flood lights. For redundancy and as a backup, the large battery bank stores numerous days of lighting (now up to 60 hours of run time without solar) and can always be charged via an onboard dual-bank AC power charger if ever needed.

To power the AC rapid charger in remote areas during solar-challenged areas or times, Progress Solar has added two options. The new Solar/Hybrid-Ready enables quick mount of a 3-4kW generator from a rental company’s existing fleet while the new Solar/Hybrid Series has an integrated generator built into the system. These options can be added to any Progress Solar or Solar/Wind unit for backup. 

The light tower is fully adjustable from 12 to 30 feet in height; lights can be individually tilted up/down and the mast can be rotated to direct the light exactly where it's needed. The system is on a portable trailer customized for maximum functionality and convenience and can be easily towed to its destination.

Sunbeam Innovations Joins Mobilight to Offer Mobile Light Towers

Sunbeam Innovations LLC has recently joined forces with Mobilight International to develop and distribute a multitude of mobile light towers. The product line includes the Eco Series, the Diesel Series and the Urban Series.
 
Among the models Sunbeam offers are the Solar 1800, a solar-powered LED light tower that provides 300W of LED lighting. The unit is designed for 100-percent emission- and noise-free operation. Within the Diesel Series is the Diesel 1800/22. Powered by a 36-hp Kohler engine and a 22kVA generator, this model offers 6,000W to 9,000W of HID light and provides a mobile, off-grid power supply. The Urban Light offers silent and emission-free light when solar energy cannot be harnessed. This rechargeable light tower provides 300W of LED light.
 
Sunbeam also offers the Mobi Hybrid 1200, a solar-powered LED light tower backed by an 18-hp Kubota engine and a 13kVA generator. The Hybrid 1200 features intelligent on-board controllers that allow for quick and easy setup and enable the user to program the unit once and rest assured their jobsite will be safely lit every night.

Terex Champions LED Technology

Terex Aerial Work Platforms offers the AL4L and AL5L LED light towers, offering the benefit of crisper lighting capabilities compared to 4,000W metal-halide models. As battery-operated units, the light towers eliminate engine noise and emissions, making them both environmentally friendly and extremely versatile.

With a 50,000-hour bulb life, the LED lights last five times longer than metal-halide lights. The LED towers provide up to 10 hours of run time and unlike metal-halide lights, have instant on/off operation. Low light pollution and sharp side cut-off reduces road glare to motorists, making the AL4L and AL5L suitable for a wide range of applications.

When operating, both units offer a 30-foot extended height. When stowed, the AL5L has a height of 69 inches and a length of 178 inches. The AL4L is even more compact with a stowed height of 67 inches and length of 178 inches. 

Standard on all new Terex AL4L generator LED light towers is the ShorePlug connector which allows multiple light towers to be connected in-line and operate from a single power source.

Wacker Neuson Introduces Vertical Mast Light Towers

Wacker Neuson is expanding its light tower line with the addition of two models designed for faster set-up time and easier operation.

The LTN 6KV and LTN 8KV are trailer-mounted vertical mast light towers. The vertical mast is made of nine sections that can be easily raised and lowered in about 15 seconds by the push of a button. The hydraulically activated telescoping mast collapses while remaining in the vertical position, eliminating the tower overhang off the back of the trailer. This design decreases the total length of the unit, maximizing the number of machines that can fit on a standard shipping truck and in a rental storage space.

The new LTN 6KV and LTN 8KV are narrow-body light towers that are suited whenever nighttime needs to be converted to daylight. The mast extends 28 feet and light bar rotates 360-degrees for optimum lighting flexibility. The four elliptical light fixtures with 1000 Watt metal halide lamps can be easily directed to offer excellent job site illumination. The new light bar design also gives the user additional range of motion on all four light fixtures, allowing usage in reduced glare applications such as highway construction.

Wacker Neuson light towers offer sound levels as low as 67 dB(A) at 23 feet, which provides for maximum versatility for almost any application. A large, 30-gallon fuel tank allows for continuous lighting/run time over several nights of operation without refueling. The LTN 6KV is powered by a 13.1 Kubota diesel engine and offers a 6 kW generator. The LTN 8KV is powered by a 15.4 hp Kubota engine and offers an 8 kW generator.
