Spring has Sprung

Spring has sprung here in the Midwest (finally!) And with Spring brings new beginnings and celebration. One of those celebrations is graduation.

As I walked through the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus recently to attend the graduation of a family member (She graduated from the Physician Assistant Program with a Master’s degree. We are very proud!), I noticed a construction site near the building where the ceremony was held. As I passed the jobsite, I couldn’t help but wonder if the contractors were following sustainable construction practices.

As I looked around (through the locked fence as I walked by) I did indeed quickly identify several practices that contractors would follow if they were working on a sustainable jobsite. This issue details some of those practices in our “Tips of the [Sustainable] Trade” in this issue. Some of those tips are basic and some are a little more advanced ... all are helpful. Take a look for yourself by clicking on the link above.

As you flip through our issue, please take note of our newest section: “What is your sustainability Message?” This is a new department just for you — the sustainable contractor and manufacturer — to share with us the message of sustainability from your company. Large or small, we can all learn from each other.
