Welcome to Las Vegas and CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2014!

Welcome to Las Vegas and CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2014!

It’s that time again. On March 4-8 construction contractors will be swarming the city of Las Vegas. With the industry beginning to show positive signs of recovery it will be interesting to see what positive vibes and news come out from this year’s show. Over 130,000 attendees are expected to descend on Las Vegas, an increase from the 120,000 expected in 2011. There will also be 2,400 exhibitors showcasing what they have to offer the industry. That’s an increase of 400 exhibitors from the last show.

In addition to new products and technology, CONEXPO itself will have some new features including the new Platinum Lot for aggregate processing, asphalt paving, drilling and more located across from the South Hall and the new Demolition and Recycling Pavilion promoting safe and economic recycling and demolition. Once again, IFPE 2014 will be co-located with CONEXPO/CON-AGG this year.

Contractors can take full advantage of the CONEXPO/CON-AGG 2014 show by attending some of the many educational sessions (learn more about some of the sessions available in the Education article in this issue). After the seminars, spend some time on the show’s exhibit floor to check out what’s new and innovative in the construction industry. Or, just take some time to talk to manufacturers and ask them questions.

Whether you plan ahead or just wing it when you get there, this pre-show guide is here to make sure you see all you need to see. In this issue you’ll find exhibitor listings and lot maps to help find your way around. We also have #OF PRODUCTS as just a preview of some of the products and equipment you can see at the show.

Even with so many contractors in Las Vegas, the construction industry won’t be at a standstill. Check out the latest updates on the Las Vegas Convention Center remodel and what’s been taking place at the Panama Canal Expansion project.
