Rain Can't Stop NPE Outdoor Demonstrations

Despite rain on the move-in day and rain that disrupted the first day of demonstrations, all 16 demonstrating companies were able to put their equipment through its paces for crowds of contractors at National Pavement Expo (NPE), Jan. 8-11 in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

For the first time since 1999 in Atlanta NPE offered exhibitors the opportunity to demonstrate their equipment and processes in a parking lot on the grounds of the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center. And in an almost perfect response from exhibitors NPE was able to demonstrate the full range of paving and pavement maintenance technologies.

Demonstrations included milling (Bomag), paving (Carlson Paving Products, LeeBoy), sweeping and surface preparation (Buffalo Turbine, Elgin, Schwarze Industries), sealcoating (Rayner Equipment Systems), infrared repair (Heat Design Equipment, KM International), crack routing and cracksealing (Cimline, Crafco, SealMaster), marking removal and striping (Graco, Titan, Waterblasting Technologies), and cementitious polymer overlay (E-Krete's PolyCon).

Check out these demonstration photos -- and look for more coverage of NPE in the March/April issue of Pavement Maintenance & Reconstruction.

And mark your calendars for NPE 2015, which will be held Jan. 28-31 back in Nashville.
