St. Louis, MO. - The Association of Modified Asphalt Producers (AMAP), a St. Louis-based international association dedicated to the development, production and use of modified asphalts that greatly extend the life of interstate pavements, has announced that Bit Mat Products, Bright Star Energy, Flint Hills Resources LP, and Vance Brothers Inc. have recently come on board as new member companies.
Bright Star Energy Inc., is the liquid asphalt trading group for C.W. Matthews Contracting Company Inc. C.W. Matthews is the largest privately held road, bridge and airport contractor in the state of Georgia with 27 asphalt plants throughout the state, producing more than five million tons of hot mix asphalt each year. The company recently completed construction of a new liquid asphalt terminal in Rockmart, GA, with a storage capability of 50,000 tons of liquid asphalt. The terminal includes a polymer-modified asphalt (PMA) plant that can produce 20 tons of PMA per hour and has three 35,000 gallon let down tanks.
Bit Mat Products, based in South Bend and Bay City, Ind., manufactures poly-modified asphalts, emulsions and cutbacks for private contractors and state, county and municipal governmental entities.
