Before her career in the concrete industry, Tanenbaum was a real estate analyst for the largest Canadian supermarket chain and later moved into leasing for a large Canadian developer. She then joined her family's concrete pipe and precast business, Loc Pipe Inc., and started in the shipping department to learn the business inside and out. Tanenbaum became involved in all aspects of production and sales -- eventually working her way up to president of Loc Pipe. Tanenbaum is an active member of the concrete industry-- she has held directorships on local and North American industry associations including most recently the position of Vice President of the Minnesota Concrete Pipe Association.
