Insulated Concrete Forms an Efficient Building Alternative

Randall, who built one of the city's first ICF homes in the 1990s, was an early adapter. He sees a bright future ahead for a sometimes overlooked but highly efficient building material.

"We need more consumer education," he said. "My highest gas bill in an ICF-built home has been $36. Once building owners realize the impact on their maintenance and energy costs, more contractors will want to use it. "
