The project involved changing about 400 signs, including eye-level signs mounted in the ground and gigantic overhead signs at I-40 interchanges with the loop on both Greensboro's eastern and western side.

Signs also had to be changed on such other major streets as Wendover Avenue and High Point Road that have I-40 interchanges.
