LBX's Harvell to Retire

As Don Harvell retires, others at the company, such as Kevin Roberts and Chris Wise, take on new roles at LBX.

Link-Belt Excavators (LBX) has announced a few major leadership changes, including the retirement of longtime employee Don Harvell, who started with the company 22 years ago. 

According to a press release:

Don Harvell, LBX Company’s board member and vice president of sales and marketing in North America, announced his retirement effective Nov. 1.

Harvell joined LBX in October 2002 as a regional manager based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Since then, he has served as general manager, director, and vice president of North American Sales before his current position.

Harvell said, “It has been a privilege to be a part of the LBX organization over the last 21 years. I have enjoyed being part of the senior leadership team and am proud to have worked with such a talented sales and marketing team. I wish everyone great success in the future.”

Eric Sauvage, president and CEO of LBX Company, commented, “Don has been a great leader for our company and has impacted our growth in North America. Don has always demonstrated that we are a “relationship-based” organization through the relationships he has built with our dealers, business partners, and LBX over the years. Don has led his team by example while preparing the next generation of leaders. I want to take this opportunity to thank Don for his leadership, passion, and dedication over the past 21 years. We will certainly miss Don and wish him joy, health, and happiness in the new chapter of his life!”

Additional organizational changes include new roles for Kevin Roberts and Chris Wise.

Kevin Roberts.Kevin Roberts.LBXKevin Roberts is now the director of North American Sales for LBX. Roberts will participate in the company’s senior leadership team and oversee NAR sales operations in his new role. Roberts has demonstrated his talent and capabilities as a contributor and leader over the last 24 years through various roles of increasing responsibility. He joined LBX in November 1999 as the national parts business manager. In 2011, he was named regional manager for the Southeast Region. Kevin was promoted to North American sales manager in 2016 and became general manager of North American Sales in 2020. 

Roberts commented, “I am very excited about the opportunity to work more closely with the senior leadership team and look forward to the challenges and opportunities this new position offers as we build upon the successes achieved under Don’s leadership.”

Wise is now director of marketing and distribution for LBX.

“I’ve had many opportunities to learn and grow here at LBX, and I’m looking forward to this new role. I love this company and this industry!” said Wise.

In his new role, Wise will participate in the company’s senior leadership team, overseeing marketing, pricing and communications, and sales/product training and distribution development. He has demonstrated his talent and capabilities as a contributor and leader over the last 17 years through numerous roles of increasing responsibility.

Wise joined LBX in November 2006 as a marketing analyst and was later promoted to sales training manager. Since then, he has served as brand manager, sales operations manager, distribution development manager, and market development manager before being promoted to general manager of marketing in 2022.

Sauvage commented, “I am excited to welcome Kevin and Chris to our senior leadership team. I do not doubt that their performance and reputation as leaders, as well as their great relationships with key stakeholders within LBX and outside of LBX, including with our dealers, will enable them to be successful in their new role.”
