Senate Votes Down Keystone Pipeline

Senate Republicans came up just one vote shy of approving the Keystone XL pipeline legislation

The New York Times

One vote was all that was needed to approve construction of the Keysonte XL pipeline, but ultimately the legislation was voted down with 59 votes in favor and 41 against. All 45 Senate Republicans and 14 Democrats voted in support of the bill with 40 Democrats and one Independent voting against. Republicans say they will bring the bill back as soon as they return in January, when Republicans will hold the majority.
