The estimated construction costs for the proposed new St. Louis NFL football stadium has grown by $10 million bringing the project's total cost estimation to $1.01 billion.
Cost estimates have building construction to increase by $25 million, but a decrease in some costs will bring the total down to the $10 million. Site development costs grew by $7 million while site clearing, demolition and cleanup are now estimated to increase by $17 million.
However, the estimated cost for the parking garage has decreased by $15 million and the cost of business relocation dropped about $6 million.
Bonds issued by the state's stadium authority are supposedly going to cover the increased costs. The bonds would be paid off with city taxes paid on tickets and concessions during game days.
