The American Institute of Constructors (AIC) has become the 39th member of ConsensusDocs, a unique coalition that produces best practice contracts for the design and construction industry.

“Joining the Coalition furthers AIC’s goals of generating public trust and confidence in the industry, and assists our members by providing us a seat at the drafting table, along with other valuable member benefits,” said AIC Chief Operating Officer Joseph R. Sapp.

AIC is a non-profit organization that serves as the national qualifying body of professional constructors. Among AIC’s purposes is to promote excellence in the industry by establishing standards of ethics and competence, promoting the advancement of construction-related fields, and facilitating the exchange of information and ideas within the industry.

ConsensusDocs are the only contracts endorsed by 39 leading design and construction industry organizations. With a library of 100+ contract documents addressing all methods of project delivery, ConsensusDocs incorporate fair risk allocation and best practices to represent the project’s best interests. Coalition members represent design professionals, owners, contractors, subcontractors and sureties (DOCS).
