Joe Boyle, CEO, TRUCE Software, sees the opportunity to take the influx of technology in construction to attract and maximize the skill sets of today's changing workforce:

“The employees entering the workforce today have never lived in a world where they didn’t have a mobile device. The young people entering the workforce are incredibly smart. They’re incredibly productive. They’re incredibly driven. And they’re incredibly connected.

“You can embrace that and you can think about how to make the most effective use of those employees and the technology they bring with them – or you can try and avoid it. But at some point you’re going to have to deal with this new reality.

“Thinking about how to get the best of all the productivity gains that mobile computing can bring – while also managing the risks – can help you tremendously. But this is something that you’re going to have to prepare for. This is a workplace reality that is coming quicker than I think people may realize.”
