United Academy, Business Line Director at United Rentals

Bal Guerrero is director, United Academy, for United Rentals. This position focuses on delivering innovative safety training in support of United Rentals’ customers. It includes all classroom, online, and blended offerings.
Before joining United Rentals, Guerrero was safety director of BlueLine Rentals, based at its headquarters location in the Woodlands, Texas. Guerrero was with BlueLine Rentals, one of the 10 largest equipment rental companies in North America, from 2016 until the acquisition by United Rentals in October 2018. Prior to joining BlueLine Rentals, Guerrero contributed as the Regional Head of Safety and Quality (HSEQ) at Aggreko. In this role, Guerrero was responsible of improving the safety culture of the Americas Power Projects Business (APP) and the Latin America Local Business Operations.
Beginning in 1996, Guerrero started his career in the oil and gas industry with Schlumberger, in operational roles and then transition to safety and quality positions, working in different roles in different countries located in Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. Guerrero is also a member of the North America Safety Council of IPAF. He is also a member of the American Rental Association Safety Task Force. Guerrero holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronic and Computer Science Engineering, and a Black Belt degree in operational excellence from the Ohio State University.
