Cat's first C Series articulated dump trucks -- the 725C, 730C and 730C EJ ejector -- received major engine upgrades compared to their B Series predecessors. A 314-hp Cat C9.3 ACERT engine powers the 725C, with 4% more power and 20% more gross torque. A 367-hp Cat C13 lifts the 730C and 730C EJ power 16% and develops a whopping 30% gross torque boost. Caterpillar's APECS transmission control strategy increases rimpull, maintains torque converter lock-up (and ground speed) during critical shifts, provides automatic speed holding, modifies shift points to match operating conditions (improving fuel economy), and automatically reduces retarding forces on lesser grades in lower gears.

  • Rated payload capacities of 26 and 31 tons and heaped capacities of 19.4 and 23 tons
  • New engine compression brake on the 730C models develops 60% more retarding power, while the 725C uses a fluid retarder with four operating modes
  • Full-time six-wheel drive and wet-disc-clutch locks in the axle differentials and inter-axle differential
  •  Automatic Traction Control on 730 models applies differential and transfer-case locks automatically, and proportionally, to suit ground conditions
  • Rear frame's new four-plate box construction replaces C-channel rails
  • New multi-adjustable, air-suspension seat
  • Welded, integrated front bumper design improves durability
  • Full-width belly pan enhances protection to the underside of the engine
  • Diesel particulate filter and selective catalytic reduction (diesel exhaust fluid) satisfy Tier 4 Final exhaust regulations
  • CONEXPO-CON/AGG Booth #10915, 1015, 1332 and 85301
