Introducing the JCB Mini CX

A new compact model extends the JCB line of backhoe-loaders

JCB Inc. recently extended its line of compact backhoe loaders with the addition of the Mini CX. Measuring in at 14 ft. 10 in. overall length, 4 ft. 10 in. overall width and 7 ft. overall height, the Mini CX backhoe-loader is designed to operate in confined working areas so it's ideal for work in construction, municipalities, plumbing, landscaping, building and rental applications.

The JCB Mini CX backhoe-loader is equipped with a 20-hp Perkins three-cylinder engine and two-wheel drive, single-speed hydrostatic transmission that allows travel speeds up to 6.2 mph in forward and 3.7 mph in reverse - making it easy for an operator to maneuver around the jobsite.

Weighing in at 3,373 lbs., the Mini CX has excellent flotation and is easy to trailer from site to site. It features a heavy-duty chassis and integral welded structure that gives high service life and reliability. The wide stabilizer leg span of the JCB Mini backhoe provides stability when working over the side and performance on par with mini-excavators in the same weight class.

With its centermount backhoe design, the Mini CX features a mini-excavator-style dipper and BHL/micro boom style that is narrow to provide high visibility and maximum performance. It features an 8-ft. 4-in. dig depth, 180-degree slew angle, 2,884-lbf. bucket breakout force and 3,320-lbf. dipper breakout force. It is also designed to be a tool carrier with its 8.45 gpm of hydraulic flow.

The loader arm design on the JCB Mini CX is spaced wide apart for maximum strength and provides excellent visibility. The CX has a 5-ft. 8-in. dump height, a rated operating capacity of 1,488 lbs. and 3,607-lbf. breakout force.

With ergonomically placed controls to minimize fatigue, the Mini CX features an exclusive JCB design offering a static mounted seat that is adjustable and easily rotated for loader or backhoe operation as in full-size backhoes. Featuring direct operating mechanical controls, the loader is operated with a single low-effort joystick and the backhoe is controlled with a standard SAE pattern control lever, with optional ISO excavator controls. Stabilizers can be independently controlled for easy leveling on uneven ground. A single foot pedal controls forward and reverse operation.
