300 Attend Ohio SealMaster Event

SealMaster hosted its first seminar March 7 where attendees toured the plant.

With the sealcoating season quickly approaching contractors gathered together in Sandusky, OH, to attend SealMaster's first seminar March 7-8. According to Matt Purdy, of SealMaster, about 300 contractors from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Kentucky, West Virginia, Indiana, New Jersey and Canada attended the event.

The two -day event began Monday night with a cocktail party and a live performance by Turn & Cough Band.

Contractors had the opportunity to tour the SealMaster manufacturing plant Tuesday morning followed by several sessions in the afternoon. Contractors attended several sessions covering topics such as asphalt products update, coal tar products update, basics of sports surfacing, traffic paint practices and bidding/estimating technologies. The sealcoating practices and D.O.T. topics were the better attended presentations, Purdy said. Go iPave, Huntington Insurance, and several SealMaster representatives spoke at the seminar sessions.

The first such event held by SealMaster at its Sandusky headquarters met expectations, Purdy said. Purdy hopes to hold more seminars in other SealMaster locations.

"We do plan to hold more seminars with a similar format that may change based on target audience and market," Purdy said.
