US Wind Sector Gears Up for Next Wave of Energy Construction

Crane makers and contractors get ready to handle taller towers and heavier nacelles

The start of 2011, saw more than 5,600 megawatts of new wind generators under construction in the U.S. -- that's more than was built in all of 2010. Crane manufacturers and contractors are gearing up to tackle this next big wave of wind energy construction. That wave, as predicted a year ago, includes taller towers and heavier nacelles.
