NJ Turnpike Authority Expects $55M Drop in Revenue

The New Jersery Turnpike Authority expects to fall at least $55 million short of revenue projections this year due to reduced traffic from unemployment, increased gas prices and some of the worst storms in state history. Officials estimate that Hurricane Irene alone cost the authority $7.3 million — $4.3 million in toll revenue and another $3 million in overtime and damage response costs.
