Ford's F-series pickups and GM's Chevrolet Silverado are Numbers 1 and 2 on the list of best-selling vehicles in America, as they have been for years, and Ram pickup checks in at No. 10. But there's no doubt the Detroit car companies benefited this year from the woes -- natural and market-based -- of their Japanese rivals.
Six of the 10 most popular vehicles in America through October are made by General Motors, Ford Motor or Chrysler Group, compared to just three last year. Tumbling out of the Top 10 are the Honda Civic and CR-V.
