DOT Worker Saves Man From Submerged Pickup

Oregon DOT worker rescues driver from submerged pickup truck after a five-car accident

Oregon Department of Transportation roadwork on Highway 20 had traffic stopped on Tuesday when the driver of a pickup truck towing a trailer of hay noticed the stall too late and rear-ended another pickup truck.

The rear-ended pickup truck crashed into another vehicle and then went off the roadway into a nearby pond.

Troy Elverfeld, and ODOT worker, took a metal rod from a backhoe, broke the truck's window and pulled the driver out.
