A study by the Valley Forward Association found the minimum level of funding over the next 25 years dedicated to the Arizona transportation needs should be $26.2 billion, and that's the low side.
To cover full state needs, the price goes up to $88.9 billion, and Valley Forward argues the price would be $250 billion to do what the association says could be done to promote economic development.
A poll conducted for the study found that 70 percent of state residents are not satisfied with the transportation system. Of them, 32 percent cited a lack of public transit options, another 11 percent cited maintenance and repair of roads, and 10 percent tabbed congestion as their top concerns.
