Three Firms Prequalified for Construction of US Embassy in Mexico City

B.L. Harbert International, LLC, Walsh Global, LLC and W.G. Yates and Sons Construction Company have been prequalified by the Department of State's Bureau of Overseas Building Operations

The Department of State's Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) has prequalified three firms for preconstruction and construction services for the new U.S. Embassy in Mexico City, Mexico.

The successful prequalified offerors are:

  • B.L. Harbert International, LLC
  • Walsh Global, LLC
  • W.G. Yates and Sons Construction Company

The preconstruction services (Early Contractor Involvement) award is anticipated in fiscal year 2014 with the option to award construction in fiscal year 2015.

The Mexico City project is solicited under OBO's Excellence in Diplomatic Facilities initiative and will demonstrate the value of an integrated design that balances aesthetics, cost, constructability and reliability. The Excellence initiative is a holistic approach to project development and delivery that seeks to utilize the best methods, technologies and staff abilities to produce facilities that are outstanding in all respects.
