Orange County Votes to Expand I-405 Without Toll Lanes

Orange County Transportation Authority board members voted to add one free lane in each direction along a 11-mile stretch of I-405 from I-605 to Euclid Street. The vote ended months of rancorous debate over proposals to add toll lanes to southern California freeway.

The project will be funded in part by a half-cent sales tax that local voters approved years ago.
