California Hospital Settles Contractor’s Lawsuit for $7.9 Million

Tulare Regional Medical Center will pay Harris Construction up to $7.9 million to settle allegations by the Fresno, Calif., contractor that it was not paid for work on a five-story hospital addition that remains unfinished.

In turn, Harris dropped its lawsuit and is out as general contractor.

Health Care Consolidated Associates, which operates the hospital under contract, has a construction division that will likely be asked to complete the hospital tower.
