Construction has started on Miami's soon-to-be tallest tower, SkyRise. Designer arquitectonica hopes the building will achieve LEED Gold when it is completed in 2017. The building is set to stand 1,000 feet above Biscayne Bay. Besides being Miami's tallest tower, the building is designed to be a continuous sheet of translucent mesh that wraps around an atrium and descends dramatically to form a sweeping curve. The asymmetrical building will include three viewing decks and allows visitors to bungee jump of its upper floors.
