The condo boom in Toronto saw many buildings constructed quickly, but now the buildings are showing early signs of deterioration including water leaks, poor insulation and exterior glass panels falling off.
According to Ted Kesik, a professor of building science at the University of Toronto, the buildings are okay for the first five years but gradually deteriorate by 10 years. Kesik says they probably won't even reach the 20 year mark before needing significant remedial work.
