Trial Over Las Vegas Harmon Hotel Defects Moves Forward

Jury selection has started in what could be a year-long trial between MGM Resorts, Tutor Perini and other plaintiffs regarding who is at fault for construction defects of the now demolished Harmon Hotel

Work on the Harmon Hotel tower stopped halfway through in 2008 after inspectors found that steel used on the first 26 stories wouldn't support the remaining 22 floors. Since then, general contractor Tutor Perini Corp., its subcontractors and the casino company have fought over who was to blame. Six years after the problems were found, jury selection has begun for the breach-of-contract trial.
