Government Construction Spending on the Rise

Census Bureau reports federal, state and local governments spent $271.1 billion on construction projects during the 12 months through October 2014 - 0.3% higher than the previous 12 months

According to a recent Census Bureau report, federal, state and local governments spent $271.1 billion on construction periords during the 12 months through October 2014. That is 0.3 percent more spending than the previous 12 months.

Roads and transportation projects, sewers and waste disposal plants were among the categories with the most public spending on building. School construction spending was lower than the previous year. Water project and public safety spending were also down.
