Caterpillar will build a new six-block campus on 31 acres in Peoria, Ill., and could spark a series of building projects in the area

Caterpillar has announced it will keep its headquarters in Peoria, Ill. The manufacturer is planning to move forward on a multi-year project to create a pedestrian-friendly campus spread over 31 acres. The new headquarters will include a three-tower building in the heart of a six-block campus. Caterpillar officials did not disclose how much it will spend on the new headquarters. The new Caterpillar headquarters could be a catalyst for growing the region.
