Chicago Mayor Rejects Two Requests to Speed Up Wrigley Field Construction Before Opening Day

Mayor Rahm Emanuel rejects two requests for exceptions to the city's ordinance dictating times construction work can be done

Chicago Sun Times

Chicago Cubs' Wrigley Field reconstruction has been delayed by frigid temperatures, but two recent requests to Mayor Rahm Emanuel to help make up for lost time have been denied. Emanuel rejected a request for non-stop construction seven days a week to speed up bleacher reconstruction as well as a revised request to build from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Emanuel said there would be no exceptions to the ordinance confining construction work to between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
