Atlanta Residents to Vote on Bond for Infrastructure Repair Funding

Bonds would help pay for about one quarter of the city's $1 billion backlog of infrastructure projects

The city of Atlanta has racked up a backlog of about $1 billion for infrastructure repairs. Next week, residents will vote on a $250 million bond referendum which would allows the city to start working on some of those infrastructure problems. The bonds will not be enough to address the entire backlog of projects. Voting on the referendum is March 17, and the city council is set to finalize the project list soon after the vote. If voters support the bond referendum, some repairs could start as early as within a few months.
