Economist: Lack of Demand Bigger Issue in Job Market Than Lack of Skilled Labor

EPI economist agues that for every job opening in the construction industry there are six unemployed construction workers to fill it

Senior economist and director of health policy research at EPI Elise Gould says that the problem in the labor market is not the lack of skilled workers but the lack of demand for workers. According to an article from The American Prospect, Gould claims there are nearly six unemployed construction workers for every job opening.
