Crews Prepare to Pour Concrete for 27 Consecutive Hours

Starting Friday, crews will be hauling 50 loads of concrete to the construction site of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co.'s 32-story office tower in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for 27 consecutive hours to form the building's foundation.

About 250 Milwaukee-area construction workers will help pour 10,000 cubic yards of concrete that will be delivered Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28. To prepare for the event, some street and sidewalk closings will occur. Construction of the 1.1 million-square-foot Northwestern Mutual Tower and Commons is scheduled for completion at the end of 2017.
