Apple Rescinds No Felons Policy for Construction Work

The tech company recently came under fire when word got out some workers had been removed from the construction project due to prior felonies

Apple has changed its convicted felon policy for construction of the new Cupertino donut complex. Previously, the company had banned anyone convicted of a felony within the past seven years from working on the project.

Apple Bans Felons from Working on Construction of New Offices

"We recognize that this may have excluded some people who deserve a second chance. We have now removed that restriction and instructed our contractors on the project to evaluate all applicants equally, on a case-by-case basis, as we would for any role at Apple," an Apple spokesperson said.

Union leaders are meeting with Apple representatives and its general contractor to discuss the next steps.
