Construction Expert Finally Joins VA Hospital Construction Investigation

The VA requested help from the Navy back in February but the request wasn't granted until April

The Bellingham Herald

More than seven weeks after the Veterans Affairs Department requested help from the Navy in its investigation into cost overruns at its Denver hospital construction project an outside construction expert has finally joined the investigation panel.

No Construction Expert on Panel Investigating VA Hospital Cost Overruns

Joanna Krause, director of the Navy's Medical Facilities Design Office, will join the investigation along with a panel of three other members who all work for the VA.

Some think the addition of the construction expert is too late, though. Rep. Mike Coffman (R-Colo.) is calling for an outside inquiry into the cost overruns.
