Arkansas's Highway and Transportation Department is putting 27 previously postponed road and bridge projects out for bids in October. These projects represent about one-third of the 87 projects worth $411 million that had been pulled earlier this year due to uncertainty over federal transportation funding.

The department also asked Governor Asa Hutchinson for $26 million in state general improvement money to help guarantee the reinstatement of 49 resurfacing projects. The agency plans to reinstate the remaining 11 projects later this year, possibly in December.
