The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is using a conveyor bridge to transport concrete over Interstate 15 to construction workers in the middle of the freeway. The conveyor eliminates the need for a driver to truck the concrete to the construction site, saving nearly 15 to 20 minutes in the process.

The nearly 200-foot-long conveyor belt carriers several tons of concrete from a site east of the interstate to the center of the freeway where the concrete breaks off and drops into a waiting bin.

However, the conveyor is not transporting normal, wet concrete. UDOT Project Director Tim Rose says the concrete is extremely condensed and stiff and probably stiffer than gravel.
