NJ Governor Orders State's General Fund Be Used for 'Essential' Transportation Projects

While New Jersey lawmakers still can't agree on a way to fund transportation infrastructure, Governor Chris Christie has ordered officials use the state's general fund to pay for "essential" transportation projects until the issue is resolved.

The executive order allows supplemental funding for only projects that are critical to residents' safety or that are necessary to secure federal funding.
