Puerto Rico Bridges the Americas

Farmington Hills Mich. - The American Concrete Institute will be holding its fall convention in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, October 14-18, 2007 with the theme: "PUERTO RICO BRIDGES THE AMERICAS."

Throughout the years, ACI has recognized that contractors' play a large role in the concrete industry. As a result, ACI has dedicated an entire day during the convention, to construction professionals. This fall's Mega Contractors' Day is expected to be even bigger and better then the year before!

Mega Contractors' Day will be taking place on Tuesday, October 16, 2007. The ACI Puerto Rico chapter will sponsor 5+ sessions ranging in topic, along with a luncheon that will feature a guest speaker. All events promise to provide construction professionals with great opportunities for education and networking.

Contractors' Day sessions will include the following topics:

Hot Topic Session: Concrete Finishes: Can Architects Really Be Satisfied?
Residential Concrete-A-Z Guidelines
Formwork: Challenges and Opportunities for the Contractor
State of the Art Cement and Concrete Applications
State of the Art Repair Concrete Techniques

The Contractors' Day Luncheon will feature guest speaker Dr. Carlos Gonzales, Secretary of the Department of Transportation and Public Works for Puerto Rico. The topic of his discussion will be Concrete and Transportation: Infrastructure Development in Puerto Rico.
