NASHVILLE, TN - Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (NYSE and TSX: RBA), the world's largest industrial auctioneer, is conducting an unreserved public auction at the Company's permanent auction site in Nashville, Tennessee on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 starting at 8:00 a.m. More than 600 items of industrial and transportation equipment from more than 50 owners, including 26 concrete pump trucks and concrete equipment will be sold to the highest bidders with no reserve prices or minimum bids. The sale of the concrete pump trucks and concrete equipment is part of a complete dispersal of the former assets of Pumpco Inc., a concrete pumping service company that had operations throughout the Southeastern United States and in the Nashville area.
The majority of the concrete pump trucks are mounted on a Mack chassis and manufactured by Putzmeister, Schwing and Concord-three of the largest and most recognized concrete pump manufacturers in the world. Pumpco representatives will be on-site in the yard the weekend prior to the auction to provide concrete pump truck demonstrations to interested bidders.
"The variety of equipment we'll have at this sale will appeal to a very diverse cross section of buyers. Since we're offering a bit of everything they should be able to find what they're looking for on auction day," said Julian Johnson, Regional Manager, Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers. "For example, in addition to the 26 concrete pump trucks and other concrete equipment, we'll be selling some really nice late model Caterpillar construction equipment as well as equipment items from the logging, transportation and aerial and lifting sectors."
Clark Heavy Equipment, United Rentals, Stowers Cat, Thompson Machinery, and The Bailey Company are just some of the owners selling equipment in the Nashville auction. Featured equipment in the auction: more than 35 hydraulic excavators; 30 crawler tractors; 15 wheel loaders and 15 loader backhoes. There is a small selection of logging equipment being sold including feller bunchers, loaders and skidders. There will also be a very large selection of boom lifts, scissorlifts and forklifts featured in the sale. In addition, 65 electric powered recreational golf carts will also be sold.
